I am Xian, and this is my photoblog. This is mainly a place to share my photographs, mainly film. Film photography is a passion and a hobby of mine, as well as cars and some forms of motorsports, and for the time being it will remain a hobby.
I currently use a Hasselblad 500C/M and an Olympus OM2n as my main cameras, but there are always new additions to the family!

long time no speak! great photos. i’m sort of into photography myself and have always wanted to learn how to use an analog camera better.. e.g. an old holga or something…

Hey Cleo! Thanks, and if you’re trying to learn can I suggest you get a basic 35mm film SLR or rangefinder as a Holga/Diana is almost too simple to get the hang of it. Also the costs of medium format film will get quite expensive for the amount of shots you get on a roll :)

Hey! I saw your photos on beeoneoneoh also and they are quite amazing. The tones you achieve give your photos a really dreamy feel. I love them! Any chance you can tell me what film you prefer for the color shots?
Thanks! My favourite two films for colour would have to be Kodak Portra 400NC for colour neg and Fujichrome Provia 100 for slide. I love them almost equally. Both have given me great results, especially in achieving nice pastel colours and great skin tones.
don’t know how i came across your blog, but have been following (lurking every once in a while) for quite some time. i’m a beginner at motorsports/automotive photography and find all your work to be truly inspirational. the composition, tones, details… everything is just beautiful! i’d love to start shooting film a bit, but haven’t had the experience thus far. someday soon, for sure. anyway, cheers and keep on keepin’ on!
Thanks for the kind words mate! The only thing about film shooting is to jump in, the learning curve is steep because it forces you to think before you click. Haven’t posted to this blog for a long while now as I’ve sold my car and aiming for a different lifestyle.
